PLAYMOBIL - Animated social media shorts for Wildbrain

Later last year I had the pleasure of working in-studio with the team at Wildbrain to animate a number of YouTube & TikTok shorts. These were high energy, snappy and hilarious; making them a whole lot of fun to animate.

It should be said that animating for a 9:16 aspect ratio is trickier than it may seem - We're so used to framing action, especially comedy, for a horizontal viewing window that I can see why it's been a challenge for a lot of the industry (Especially us stop motion animators with our heavy DSLRs and standing tables; which make the ceiling lower and hight of the frame trickier to make space for), to adjust. But this series was an example of a production team taking the format and sprinting with it; and I had a fantastic time being a part of the project.

While I've shared a couple of the episodes I've animated here, I'd highly recommend watching the whole series of shorts; as it's a prime example of high-quality toy animation, and as I've mentioned before, they're very funny.
